The book relays the story of a ruined castle in the wilderness that was once inhabited by a wealthy, yet evil Countess. The book, known as the Moldy Tome, can be found on a stone pedestal within what appears to be a ruined chapel in Stony Field. Unlike the other quests in Act I, it is activated by reading a book rather than by talking to an NPC. The Forgotten Tower is the fourth quest in Act I: The Sightless Eye of Diablo II. Quickly run or use your movement skills to get out of the way, and attack her from behind as she unleashes this powerful move.Īfter a certain amount of time, the Countess will also summon a horde of Bloodsword to keep you occupied as she flies off out of view.

One of the Countess' most regularly used abilities is using her sword to plan a huge slash, shown by a large red arc that forms on the ground. The Countess is a formidable foe armed with a large sword that can perform grand sweeping attacks, which she can mix in with deadly spells and abilities. Once she falls, you'll have to search the dungeon and take down more Bloodsworn in rapid succession to find the lair of the Countess. She'll usually walk out of melee range at that point, requiring you to either attack at range or focus efforts of the continually spawning Bloodsworn. It's hard to dodge, and only certain skills can free you.

Her only other main ability is a quick purple projectile that binds you in place for a short amount of time.
